Hunting

The farm Frichgewaagt is situated ca 100kms East of Windhoek and approximately 50kms from Hosea Kutako International Airport.

There is more than 11,000 ha of open Savannah, here Kudu, Oryx, Springbuck, Duiker, Steen buck, Warthog, Lynx and Jackal are hunted.

Your host is a qualified hunting guide and will handle the Hunting himself. It is recommend that you bring light Safari clothing with you. In winter, from May to August, warm jackets, jerseys and hand gloves, may be required for the mornings and evenings. Temperatures can range from 15ºC in the morning to more than 25ºC during the day.

Comfortable boots, a hat as well as sunblock and sunglasses should not be forgotten.
The hunting season is from March to the end of November.

Guests may bring his/her own gun(s), smallest Caliber 30.06 8 x 68 under 9.3 x 64 or similar. The best transport method for the gun should be in a metal casing. The gun should be calibrated at ca 200 meters. You should bring between Ca 40-60 rounds of ammunition for your gun. Weapons and ammunition can also be rented.

Binoculars and a hunting knife should also be included in your hunting kit.

Do not forget to bring your own Gun License (another person’s gun license will not be accepted). A Namibian hunting license is available here.

Frischgewaagt offers their guests typical Namibian food, with first class South African Wines.
